Job Description

The Investor Enablement team is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Python Engineer. As part of a firmwide initiative to modernize investment technology platforms and data solutions, this role designs, develops, and supports enterprise-grade Python applications that enable investment, operations, and technology teams across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Development

1. Design, develop, and implement scalable Python-based applications and services.
2. Build high-performance, multi-threaded and multi-process applications.
3. Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integration services.
4. Create analytical and reporting solutions using Streamlit, Plotly, Bokeh, and Matplotlib.
5. Integrate applications with cloud services and enterprise systems.
6. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Data Engineering & Analytics

1. Design and optimize data models and database structures.
2. Design and implement data ingestion, transformation, and distribution pipelines.
3. Process and analyze large datasets using Pandas and NumPy.
4. Build monitoring and data quality controls.
5. Support analytical and quantitative initiatives.

Maintenance and Support

1. Monitor and maintain production applications.
2. Troubleshoot application, integration, and data issues.
3. Implement performance tuning and optimization.
4. Participate in incident response and continuous improvement.

SDLC

1. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and Jira tracking.
2. Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and developers.
3. Develop automated testing and deployment pipelines.
4. Create and maintain technical documentation.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Physics, or a related discipline.

Experience

1. 5+ years of professional software development experience with Python.
2. Experience designing enterprise-grade Python applications.
3. Experience building APIs, data processing solutions, and integration services.
4. Experience working within Agile delivery teams.

Required Skills

1. Python 3.10+ with strong object-oriented programming and design patterns experience.
2. Multi-threaded and multi-process application development.
3. Pandas and NumPy.
4. Matplotlib, Plotly, Bokeh, and/or Streamlit.
5. Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Snowflake.
6. Familiarity with NoSQL databases.
7. Building and consuming RESTful APIs.
8. FastAPI.
9. Swagger/OpenAPI and Postman.
10. AWS familiarity, including ECS Tasks, EC2, Lambda, IAM roles, and monitoring.
11. CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
12. Testing frameworks including pytest.
13. Git and collaborative development workflows.

Preferred Experience

1. Quantitative finance concepts, including risk metrics, performance attribution, and valuation models.
2. Building ETL pipelines for market and reference data.
3. Docker and Kubernetes.
4. Integration with Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, or Dataverse.
